John and ZQ had travelled over from Singapore for a three-day holiday, making the most of everything adventurous that Queenstown has to offer.
But on a windy, cold autumn evening, John had something else planned.
He and I had arranged a lakeside walk down at beautiful Jack’s Point, where they would just so happen to bump into a photographer who might ask if they’d mind posing for a few photos. That photographer was me.
What followed was John’s long-awaited proposal to ZQ.

ZQ was thrilled and, of course, said yes. There was a real sense of relief once everything was out in the open, and we could all relax and enjoy the moment. After that, we continued with a relaxed couple’s photoshoot.
It was only April, but there was already snow on the mountain tops, sitting perfectly against the autumn colours at Jack’s Point. Being newly engaged and completely in love made the whole session feel effortless.
Luge, jet boating, skydiving and an engagement to top it all off. John and ZQ’s Queenstown trip was nothing short of a whirlwind. Everything about Queenstown is made for moments you’ll remember forever. I was thrilled to be part of their once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
