Nic & Izaak ~ Auckland CBD Autumn Wedding // Kirsten Summers // Auckland wedding photographer
Nic and Ice (Izaak)’s wedding was a celebration long in the making. Busy with life and their five beautiful girls, they finally decided it was time to tie the knot. Their special day included a heartfelt ceremony at Victory Church Auckland, followed by a relaxed photo session in the autumn-themed Vic Park just across the road. Having had the privilege of knowing these guys since our shared gym days quite a few years ago, I was honoured that they asked me to take their photos.

With five kids and some of their closest friends, the bridal party was all set. Despite plenty of tears from Izaak as Nic walked down the aisle, the walk back was a joyful contrast, with the newlyweds showing off funky dance moves and celebrating their happiness. A true celebration of love and joy.

It’s fair to say that after the ceremony, everyone was just as happy as the bride and groom.

After the ceremony and family photos, we headed across the road to Victoria Park for more shots. This part of the wedding day is always a great chance for the bride and groom to take a few moments together, whether just the two of them or with their bridal party.

I was really excited when Nic suggested we head to Franklin Road for some photos. With its striking autumn trees and urban feel, the mix of cityscape and nature made a unique backdrop — plus, the passing cars beeping their horns made the bridal party feel like rockstars. Relaxed after some time out, we headed back to the church for an evening filled with speeches, cake, and dancing.
